Bought it secondhand, the bottom portion of the ladder does not fasten. I usually just make it so that the ladder is at a steeper angle and just slide the bottom portion onto the upper ladder. The angle should give it enough support so that it doesn’t collapse whilst you climb it.

I don’t use it enough (I’ve only used it twice) I usually just camp in my car since taking it off and putting it on can be quite a hassle. Other than the ladder, it’s a pretty solid tent!
