Introducing the Carmel, the latest and most versatile campervan rental from Scenic Vanlife Rentals and Builds. Perfectly designed to cater to families seeking adventure or couples craving a cozy getaway, the Carmel ensures comfort, convenience, and luxury on the road.
Sleep in Comfort
The Carmel is engineered to accommodate up to five people comfortably. Its clever sleeping arrangements include a dinette that transforms into a queen-sized bed for two and a full bed on a Happijack Lift that descends smoothly from the ceiling, providing a unique and spacious sleeping area for another two occupants. Additionally, there's an optional air mattress that can convert the front seats into a twin bed, ideal for an extra guest or two children.
Fully Off-Grid Capability
Embrace the freedom of off-grid living with the Carmel's robust electrical system. Equipped with 600 AH of Lithium Batteries, a powerful 3000 Watt Inverter, and 400 Watts of Solar Power, you'll have all the energy you need for extended adventures without the need to connect to external power sources.

Stay comfortable no matter the weather. The Carmel is fully insulated for both heat and sound, ensuring a peaceful and temperate interior. The Baltic Birch Walls add an extra layer of insulation, while window coverings assist in temperature regulation. A 12V AC over the bed provides cooling when needed, while the whole-house fan above the kitchen provides ample ventilation. For colder nights, the high-end luxury German Espar heater delivers efficient and reliable warmth.

We offer flexible cancellation with 100% refund up to 30 days in advance. Between 30 and 15 days you lose the $600 holding deposit. Within 14 days of departure, lose 50% of your reservation fee. Within 1 Week - No Refunds For bookings less than 30 days prior to departure we have a different cancelation policy: 48 hours after booking, free refund (unless departure is less than 7 days away, then all sales final). 30-7 days prior to departure, lose 50% of your reservation fee. 7 days prior to departure all sales final. [30+ day bookings have a different cancelation policy: Cancellation with 100% refund up to 45 days in advance. Between 45 - 30 days you lose the $600 holding deposit. Within 30 days of departure, lose 50% of reservation fee. Within 1 Week - No refunds]

Maintained Dirt Roads OK for Boondocking. Not compatible with 4x4 only roads.
No International Travel UNLESS PREAPPROVED BY SCENIC.
No Burning Man. (AGAIN NO BURNING MAN). Immediate charge of $10,000 processed when rented van entered Burning Man area.
Tailgating Ok.
No towing (except bike racks provided by customer).
Snow chains are prohibited. Please plan trip accordingly to avoid chain controls.
Damages:
The renters are financially responsible for ALL physical damage to or theft of a Booked Vehicle that occurs during the Booking, plus any additional costs and fees resulting from damage of any kind to the Vehicle, regardless of who is found to be at fault.
If you purchased insurance through our booking software (Outdoorsy/Wheelbase), there is a $1500 deductible that will be applied to damages. For damage under $1500, the renter is responsible for all damage costs.
If you are using your personal insurance for coverage during your trip (trips booked on Scenic Vans website only), you are fully responsible for all damage and subject to the deductible for your individual policy.
If you have purchased Interior Damage Protection through our booking site (Outdoorsy/Wheelbase), the policy covers up to $1500 of interior damage subject to the policies specifications. It is renter's responsibility to file the claim with IMG. No deductible to file claim. Scenic will deduct any damage costs from security deposit and successful claims will be reimbursed by IMG to the renter directly.
Excess Cleaning Fee $250 assessed upon further inspection of the van during cleaning process.
