The national parks are why most folks come out here. Rainier, Olympic, the North Cascades, and Banjo is built to get you deep into all of it. Here's the catch nobody mentions: the campgrounds inside those parks book out months ahead and fill fast all summer. That's where 4x4 wheels earn their keep. If the park campground is full, Banjo's got you. Its four-wheel-drive gets you to a gorgeous free dispersed site on the national forest land just outside the boundary, so you camp serene by night and explore the park by day. Best of both.
Dispersed camping is the kind where you pull off a forest road onto public land, find a clearing with a mountain view, and sleep there for free. No reservations. No fees. No cell signal, usually, but that is kind of the whole point.

The ZR2 is the factory-built off-road trim of the Chevy Blazer, not a base model with 4WD added, but the version engineered for off-pavement use. It runs upgraded suspension, 46mm Bilstein shocks, factory skid plates, a wider stance on 31-inch RT tires, and a 4.3L Vortec V6 with a low-range transfer case (4-High for gravel, 4-Low for the slow technical stuff). It's an easy automatic, so if you can drive a car, you can drive Banjo, and it's been wheeling Washington's forest roads for over two decades. It knows the job. Upgraded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a backup and trail camera to keep you connected until you don't need to be.
