Magnuson supercharger on the 4.0L V6. This is the single best thing you can do to a 5th gen 4Runner. The 1GR-FE is a bulletproof motor with modest power — the blower fixes that. Real horsepower and torque gain, and it pulls hard at altitude where every naturally aspirated 4Runner goes flat. It also makes a supercharger whine coming out of a Toyota SUV that you will not get tired of. Ever.

Full three-mode drivetrain: 2WD, 4WD High, 4WD Low. Real transfer case, real low range.

THE BUILD

169,000 miles. It's a 4Runner. These routinely run past 300k, and the 5th gen with the 1GR is one of the most durable vehicles Toyota has ever built.
