Why are you selling? I am 6’4’’ and it’s not that spacious for me. I need an electric vehicle for new job doing outside sales, it’s time to pass to another 4Runner head in my older age.

Fully transparency- This vehicle has had no engine issues, and I put way too much money into it. I love the 3rd generation, my mother had one, I even sold my 2018 and had so much fun doing elective, preventative, longevity, and performance upgrades.

I neglected changing out or adding transmission fluid and just put a new JDM transmission in with kit, fluid, and new Toyota transmission lines. $2,679.63

Why?

The design of the OEM 4Runner brake rotors is a poor. The rotors are too thin. During periods of heavy, constant braking, the brakes can easily overheat and become warped. The shuddering when braking with severely warped rotors can be so violent that it can nearly cause loss of control of the vehicle. Warped rotors can also cause issues with the Anti-lock braking system trying to kick in while braking.

Fixes/ How to Avoid:

The best option is to swap the entire brake assembly (calipers, rotors, and pads) with that of a 1st generation Toyota Tundra (2000-2006). This "Tundra Brake upgrade" has many advantages to a slotted/drilled OEM replacement. With tundra brakes, the braking power is significantly increased, the rotors last longer, and they are not as vulnerable to warping (all rotors are vulnerable, depending on driving style).
