No check engine light. Good record of SMOG check performance. This has been very well taken care of and is very clean.
There are a couple of cosmetic scratches on the original fender flares. Paint is original, with a couple of spots of clear coat peeling on the passenger-side door. Other than that, it's dialed in.
BACKGROUND
I bought this Land Cruiser around 2013 from a lady in Los Angeles. It was completely bone stock and had never been off-road. I purchased it with the intention of building an overland rig and planned a 6-week cross-country trip with my son — which we did.
We traveled from San Diego to Yellowstone and back, mostly by dirt roads and trails. It was a trip of a lifetime. We didn't even get a single flat tire on the entire trip. It was an epic trip.
After that, it was used for occasional camping trips and, for the most part, has been stored in the garage and used here and there.
Since I have owned it, it has been covered and does not spend time sitting in the sun. This is one of the reasons it is still in such good shape.
Kids are now in college, and I have other projects in the pipeline.
ABOUT THE SALE
I am going to list this and see how it goes. I am fairly firm on the price, and I think I have priced it very reasonably.
This is my first listing. After this, I will likely do a full detail, including the undercarriage, some paint correction, new tires, etc., and then list it on Bring a Trailer for a considerably higher number.
I have done the research, and there are very few, if any, available rigs that are this clean and this well built out.
Do you want a great rig that is 98% there at the listed price, or do you want to see it fully detailed and sorted at a different price point? Your call.

BUILD DETAILS
This is not everything, but it's a pretty solid list.
If you were to duplicate this build today it would cost about 30k in parts + any labor and + the cost of a low miles factory locked rust free Land Cruiser.
Below is my best description of the parts used. Some of the items are older versions of the products listed, but in terms of actual use, many have relatively low mileage/use.
INTERIOR
• Original leather interior, with the exception of the front two seats. Those have been reupholstered in matching grey leather.
• No holes or damage to the leather.
• I have the original leather 3rd-row seats. They are not currently installed in the vehicle.
• Rear cargo slide-outs on 200-lb full-length drawer slides.
• Optional sleeping platform/cabinet. Remove the rear seats for solo camping and you can sleep a 6-ft person inside.
• Custom driver-side armrest. Trust me on this one… removable if you're a stock kind of guy.
• Amp and small subwoofer, aftermarket system and speakers, integrated hands-free, etc. It sounds pretty good. Subwoofer is removable if you want the additional gear space. Speaker output is part of the rear power panel. See pictures.
COMMUNICATION / AIR
• Rugged Radios system installed with custom antenna mount. Older version of this system.

• ARB onboard air compressor — older version of the twin compressor.

ROOF / CAMPING EQUIPMENT
These items are available with the vehicle or can be purchased separately.
• Front Runner Slimline roof rack.

• ARB Rooftop Tent — older version made by ARB.
• ARB Awning.

• ARB Refrigerator.

I can sell the RTT, rack, awning and refrigerator with the truck or separately.
ELECTRICAL / DUAL BATTERY
• Dual Battery System. Separates vehicle functions from accessory functions.
The system couples both batteries for charging when the vehicle is running and decouples the batteries when the vehicle is not running.
Blue Sea system with factory Toyota battery box on the passenger side, along with a windshield washer fluid relocation kit.
For example, if you are camping and use the accessory battery until it runs out, you can still start and run the vehicle.
If your main battery dies for whatever reason, you can switch to the second battery to start the vehicle, etc.
I currently have a standard battery as the main vehicle battery. The second/accessory battery is a marine battery intended for discharge and recharge.
• Rear fuse panel and dual battery monitors.

BUMPERS / WINCH / PROTECTION
• Slee front and rear bumpers.
Slee Off-Road:

• Slee "ShortBus" high-clearance front bumper — older version of this bumper.

• Warn winch with synthetic rope — older version of this winch.

• Slee rear bumper with dual swing-outs, ladder and jerry-can holder — older version of this bumper.

• White Knuckle rock sliders.

• Slee shaky-mirror elimination mounts.
SUSPENSION / WHEELS / GEARS
• Old Man Emu 2.5" lift.
• 35" BFG Mud Terrain KMII tires — 5 tires total, approximately 6,500 miles on them.
• Yukon Gears 4.56 front and rear.

The gearing is near perfect for this size tire (35"). Technically, it is about 5% overgeared, so the speedometer is off by approximately 5%. It reads a little faster than you are actually traveling.
Well worth it for the performance improvement from having it regeared.
MECHANICAL / MAINTENANCE
• Pesky heater hose replaced.
• Rear main seal replaced.
• No leaks whatsoever.
• Front and rear wheel bearings replaced.
• Inner axle seals replaced.
• Front knuckles serviced multiple times.
OTHER DETAILS
• Custom camp stove mount for the rear swing-out. I can show it to you if interested. Holds a standard Coleman 2-burner stove.

KNOWN ISSUES
I believe in being completely upfront about the condition, so here are the things I know about:
• Two A/C vents are wobbly.
• Passenger-side clear coat has a few spots of peeling. See detailed photos.
• Right-rear fender flare got tagged on a trail. Paint is scuffed.
• Driver-side rear door has a sticky door lock. It works, but sticks when using the switch. Manually, it works fine.
• A few minor nicks in the rear hatch window tint.
• Right-front power seat motor is a little sticky. The seat is currently all the way back, which is where it has always been and where most people would want it. I think it may have simply never been used, which is why it is sticky.
• Side mirrors have both been retrofitted with the Slee shaky-mirror solution. 80 Series Land Cruisers are prone to this issue.
• Driver's window visor is loose, which is consistent with every other 80 Series I have seen. I use a small strap to hold it in place and have for years. It works fine.
