The dometic 12v DC A/C system runs for about 9-12 hours on a full charge battery bank (400 amp lithium batteries) which means you don't have to be plugged in to shore power at a campsite to sleep comfortably. Then the battery bank system recharges two different ways, one via solar power and the other via alternator power so when the van is running its charging the (home) battery bank. You also have the option to plug in via shore power for (unlimited) power, so if your style of camping is staying at a campground for days on end then you can plug in via shore power and not have to worry about running out of power.
