What’s nearby
The grand canyon is only a few hours away and is an incredible trip. Our favorite is to go to the north rim, it is less crowded and plenty of places to camp (free and paid) in the forest.
Sedona, Prescott, and the Rim (Payson) are excellent weekend getaways. No shortage of places to explore and even some waterfalls and creeks to see.
