Description
2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser
We are the second owners of this car. Original owner was from Las Vegas so there is zero rust. We purchased it 5 years ago with 90,000 miles and it has been great for us but we purchased a newer camping car and no longer need it around. In 2019 I replaced the alternator at Peterson Toyota and the tech commented on how great the car was mechanically. Doesn't leak or burn any oil. Every time I've changed the the oil it has always been in the exact same spot on the dipstick. Other than the alternator going out I haven't had to do anything other than routine maintenance. I would think this is one of the cleaner early FJs around. We usually average 15-17mpg with normal driving but we routinely get 20-21 on the highway.
The good:
-Nearly flawless interior
-Mechanically sound - doesn't burn any fluids
-No rust

-Locking Rear Differential
-115V, 400 watt power outlet

-Exterior Color-keyed Door Trim Inserts
-Multi-informational Display Floating Ball
Type (Inclinometer, Compass,
Temperature)
-Leather-wrapped Steering Wheel with
Integrated Audio Controls
-Shift Knob and Transfer Case Levers with
Silver-tone Accents (Transfer Case Lever

"Convenience Package"
-Remote Keyless Entry System
-Cruise Control
-Power Outside Mirrors with Illuminated
Markers
-Rear Privacy Glass
-Rear Wiper
-Rear Intuitive Parking Assist
-Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
-Back-up Sonar
The bad:
-Cracked windshield - common issue
with the angle of the windshield and
highway driving - I haven't bothered
replacing it since rock chips happen so
often.
-Spare tire was backed into which pushed
it in slightly causing a little
dent in the rear door that isn't very
noticeable. No other cosmetic damage
from the incident.
-Small dent along the roof body line that
was there when I purchased it.
-Minor scratches from camping but no
door dings and the exterior is otherwise
in great shape for being nearly 15 years
old.
