Vendor Spotlight: Travoca

Travoca wasn’t on our radar until Overland Expo West, but their booth had a presence that stood out—clean, distinctive gear that didn’t just blend into the usual wall of rugged blacks and grays. Their 12-volt fridge-freezers, dubbed e-coolers, caught our eye first. Sleek lines, unique green tones, and paneling that hints at a modern-retro design approach—it was a nice shift from the utilitarian norm.

We didn’t get a chance to talk with the team at the event, but we took some time to dive into their site afterward. Their story starts with the founder, David, chasing the balance between comfort and freedom—bringing just enough of home into the outdoors without overdoing it. That idea plays out in their core lineup: 12-volt fridge/freezers and titanium drinkware that emphasize portability, clean aesthetics, and ease of use.

The Rigel line of e-coolers is their main product. They’re positioned around middle-tier pricing (about $700 for the 35L model, as of spring 2025) and are designed for quiet operation and extended cooling performance. Travoca also highlighted that all four sizes of the Rigel DZ have a removable divider that converts the fridge from dual-zone to single-zone. While it’s not fully clear how that plays out in everyday use, it’s a design element that may appeal to users who want the flexibility to separate food and frozen goods within one unit.

Travoca points to the Toshiba compressor and vacuum insulated panels (VIP) as key upgrades aimed at improving cold retention and overall performance. While these features are common in premium fridges, it’s encouraging to see them prioritized here.

Overall, Travoca is a brand that’s blending form with function—and doing it with a design-first mindset that still aims to hold up in the field. Sometimes, the difference between reaching for your gear with satisfaction instead of frustration is all in the details.
