At around 3000 lbs. it can easily be towed behind almost any midsize SUV or larger vehicle. We always INCLUDE the following towing aids and safety equipment to ease your mind, and allow you to soak in the scenery as you drive:
• Extended mirrors if needed
• Tire pressure monitoring system for trailer

November 1st - March 31th
During the coldest months of the year, the Airstream is winterized. This means you'll be able to dry camp and stay nice and cozy, but the fresh water system is off. This is usually only a minor inconvenience. You'll heat your water on the stove and you can usually use the sink drain, shower drain and the toilet with jugs of water like you would when camping normally.
This policy protects you from having to pay for very costly damages to the water system due to freezing. (The biggest problems are the pump, pipes, tanks and water heater. Repairs for ruptured pipes can cost more than $2000 in addition to the days the trailer is out of commision — which you would be liable for.) However, depending on your destination & weather permitting, we may allow you dewinterize the trailer while you're out. In this case, a $100 fee to re-winterize the trailer upon your return would be assessed.
We will provide a 5 gallon jug that you can fill up with water while you are in town. If you plan on boondocking, you may want to bring more, just to be safe. (They say to plan on, one gallon of water per person per day. It's a good idea to double that, so you don't have water anxiety. Keep your empty jugs in the car and fill them up whenever you find a spigot.) For convenience, you might consider picking up a couple collapsible jugs like the "GSI Outdoors Folding Water Cube - 2.6 gal." from REI. They also make 3.9 and 5.3 gallon versions. I prefer the flexibility of smaller jugs.
