Electric Ford Off Road Truck and Roof Top Tent

Aloha! This truck is the ultimate Maui adventure vehicle. It's my personal baby, and on top of being a crazy fun and powerful truck it can come with a host of extras to match your Maui needs. Possible extras include a roof top tent (with bedding), surfboards, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, camping gear, kitchen gear, and a full on demand hot water shower that you plug into the truck!

This is a fully electric Ford F150 Lightning. From its stock form, I’ve put on a small lift, aggressive 35" off road tires, racks for the bed, and built a electric hot water shower into it for the beach. It handles beautifully both on and off road! The rated range of the truck is 330 miles, but with the larger tires it gets closer to 300 on a full charge.

The interior and front trunk area are both massive. This vehicle can easily accommodate 4 full size adults with their baggage. The front trunk is large enough for 2 full size carry on roller bags plus some extra room for personal items. The cab will fit 5 large adults easily, or 4 with some additional baggage.

This truck can be charged by every type of level 2 and level 3 charger on the island, making charging a breeze. For renters who have not experienced electric vehicles before, read through to the bottom for full charging on Maui explanation. But rest assured, you can drive this car without running into any great difficulty with range anxiety on Maui.

There are many ways to charge the Truck on island. The easiest is if you are staying at a hotel which has free overnight charging in their parking (many of them do, call and ask!). If you can't charge overnight, than your best options are the fast chargers.

The quickest fast charger is at Kahului Park and Ride and will fill up the whole battery from 0 to 100% in about 40 minutes. It costs $40-$50 to fill the tank completely, accepts credit card at the charger, has 4 chargers so 1 is always available, and is located at the Kahului Park and Ride.

Additionally, there are 6 other fast charging stations around the island which will allow you to add 175 miles of range in 40 minutes. They are located in Kihei, Kahului, Lahaina, Haiku, and Pukalani. These are all operated by op connect, most have a credit card scanner on the charger, or you can activate them by the app. Downloading app and searching the map for the CCS charge type will direct you to these chargers, or you can ask me for the location. These are slower but less expensive, costing only $35 to completely fill the tank between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Additionally, many of the chain stores and parking lots around the island such as Safeway, Target, Costco, Lowes, etc etc have level 2 chargers which will give you 15-20 miles of range per hour of charging for free. The level 2 chargers are mostly operated by chargepoint or EVolution and you should download their apps to access.
