Description
I have called this van home for months and years at a time since 2021, after pouring blood sweat and liters tears into the creation. The design all came from my mind:-) It has served me incredibly well as a full-time rig with all of the basics, plus some flare!
Recent Mechanical History:
- Full road-ready inspection 5/14/25
- 2 new back All Terrain tires 5/9/25
- Full interior upgrade 5/13/25
- Fuel line fixed, MPG calculated at 18mpg
*roof racks will be added upon request*
The van is setup for a virtual handoff. Once booked, I will send the Vanual and a video describing everything in the van.
It's a perfect budget option for those of you ready to test out low-budget van life, or go for a week/end getaway in the mountains.
LET MET BE Clear: This is by no means luxury accommodation! Hence the low nightly price. This is best for those who are okay with rough around the edges (literally) and some things without a pretty finish on them. Best for climbers, hikers, dirtbags, campers, ski/snowboarders who are okay with living and thriving with basics.
Once booked, I will send the VANual and a video with details of the entire van, so that remote handoff is possible.
Shelby is a beast - since I bought her in July 2021, there have been very minimal trips to the mechanic, besides regular maintenance. She is incredibly reliable, has great power, and can get through the Rockies with ease! High clearance and back two all terrain tires means she's okay to take on Some dirt roads. You’ll notice quickly that dirt roads that are 4x4 only, will NOT be doable. She is big, so she will be slower when climbing the Rockies, stay in the right lane and keep trucking! When going downhill, you may opt to put her in 2nd gear so you aren't riding your brakes as much, although many sections do not require it in most sections. Remember, you can shift from 2nd to D while moving, but going from D to 2nd while traveling at high speeds will severely damage the vehicle. 15mph tops, or just pull over to switch it into 2nd.
The solar and electric system is powerful and easy to use, requires virtually no messing with except for turning the dimmable puck lights on when the sun starts to set.
Comes equipped with lots of camping gear, kitchen essentials, cookware, stove, sink, 5 gal. potable filtered water, vent fan, and DC outlets to keep all your devices charged. (No "AC" units, only car DC outlets for USB and USB-C plugs).
No air conditioning unit, except when the car is running.
If you want to travel with 2 people but do not want to sleep in the same bed, there is a tent and twin size air mattress (and pump) that you can setup.
No toilet available. For human waste while camping, I would recommend the true Leave no Trace (LNT) way - dig a 6 inch hole at least 200 yards away from any water source, do your biz in nature (best with a view)! There is a caddy for this purpose complete with toilet paper, hand sanitizer, a shovel, and wipes. (Wipes are NOT biodegradable, please pack in pack out).
For cooking, I highly recommend utilizing the camp table to cook on, or the fold-out attachment on the side door. I have provided paper towels, paper plates, and biodegradable utensils if you don't want to do dishes. There are trash bags as well
Shelby is very easy to drive, fits in most parking spaces. She’s long, but she’s definitely easier than you think to maneuver!
