Description
2020 Alu-Cab Canopy Camper for mid-sized shortbed 5’ trucks. Fits Tacoma, Frontier, Colorado/Canyon, Ranger, Gladiator, etc).
https://www.alu-cab.com/product/canopy-camper/
Lightly used and stored indoors. Slept in a handful of times. Shows little wear or damage of any kind.
This camper installed at dealer would be $30k out the door new.
From Alu-Cab’s website:
-An easy-access vertical door with heavy-duty hinges, and the ability to mount a 33″ spare-wheel (No need for an after-market rear bumper and wheel carrier). This also solves the problem of dust entering through the tailgate.
-Proprietary extrusions are used throughout the construction for a drill-free fitment
-Tried and tested dual-layer canvas tent
-Flip-away bed means ample headroom and standing space
-Bedding remains in place whether the tent is open or closed
-Roof rails to facilitate the mounting of various rooftop accessories
-Side-access canopy doors
-Air Vent (builds from June 2024). For older models, air vents can be purchased and retro-actively fitted to the Canopy Camper.
Well made product from South Africa. Extremely light 450lb dry weight.
Options/option pricing:
-Canopy Camper ($11,300)
-Alu-cab 270 Shadow Awning ($1575)
-Dickinson P9000 Propane Furnace ($1000)
-GP Factor Fitment Kit for Dickinson P9000 ($649)
-AT Overland 10Lb Propane Bottle Holder ($155)
-Rear Molle Panel Pair ($400)
-Canvas Bags on Rear Door ($325)
-Canvas Bags on bulkhead ($375)
-Spare Tire Carrier for Canopy Camper (supports up to 33" spare ($300)
-Canopy Camper Fitment Kit for 3rd Gen 5ft Short Bed Tacoma ($529 cost)
-Custom corner jack brackets to simplify removal/storage/installation
This camper was previously installed on a 3rd gen Tacoma. The original owner had it installed on a Ford Ranger. He might have used it 3-4 times. The second owner stored it in his garage and never went camping.
I bought the silver 2nd gen Tacoma in photos specifically for this camper. Additional parts are required to fit 2nd gen Tacoma and other 5’ bed mid-sized trucks. Fit kits are available thru Alu-Cab dealers, as are all other upgrades. The amount of accessories available for these campers is impressive. It’s a fun website.
It was a selling point for me that it’s fits several different 5’ bed midsized trucks.
I’ve owned Four Wheel Camper Project M, All Terrain Campers, an AT Overland Summit, and a GFC. The Alu-Cab design, fit/finish, quality/durability, and looks are superior. It looks and feels like it’s from South Africa.
I have a fit kit for a 2nd gen 5’ Tacoma.
The camper is currently hanging in my storage unit in north Reno. It would be easy to lower onto buyer’s rig. You will need to assess the fit kit and installation on your own or take it to local A
