Description
I have owned this Jeep Ursa Minor camper for over 2 years but only put 6,000 miles on her. It has the Penstar 3.6 engine. I would guess 5,900 miles were getting to southern Utah and back on paved roads and maybe 100 miles was off pavement and maybe 25 miles was on 4 wheel trails.
Honestly, I bet I have not slipped her into 4 wheel drive 5 times and that was only for a short stretch. The rest of the offroad miles were easily traveled in 2 wheel drive. Never needed to lock the hubs other than in my yard to circulate the oil. Never did any crawling as we bought her to get to hiking trailheads that needed a bit of ground clearance.
In other words, my wife's logic pressing me to sell is hard to combat!
I bought her in California from the original owner who built it. I only added a few minor things to the original build.
She has the hard to find Ursa Minor hardtop w/roof top tent. It is a wonderful way to tent camp in style. The elevated view is a plus as well avoiding critters and rocks on the ground. I think the cost for this top/tent is over $15,000 today.
The tent can be accessed from inside the Jeep as well as from the outside ladders. Has an unused awning as well. Has an aftermarket radio with navigation/Sirius and more stuff that I never use.
She has the stamp of approval from "The Jeep Guy" in Lindon. He is the best mechanic in the valley.
She sits on 37" tires and all the aftermarket suspension/gearing needed to allow it to travel 80 mph on the freeway yet crawl over any obstacle with ease. She has 4 different communication devices, none of which I understand! Has a Warn winch/air compressor.
I have complete documentation on the build done by mechanic shops in CA. They add up to over $40,000 over the cost of stock.
Lots more to add but if you are serious and willing to pony up you can stop by or call. No tire kickers please.
You will not find a more capable offroad camper for this price and it will haul your groceries as well.
