2000 Ford Explorer Sport

This glorious vehicle is 100% adventure wagon. As it is a quarter century old it has some problems of course but very little rot (not on the frame), it does leak a bit of oil but it has been nothing but 100% reliable. I have driven it from Florida to Canada over the past few years numerous times and it has been nothing short of the best adventure rig but it is time to move on. I updated the stereo so it has Bluetooth now, as well as very good quality speakers (I want to say JBL) that have all been replaced a year ago. I also installed functioning KC lights on the front which turn on with the red button under the little charging station I also installed myself. I also replaced all sorts of small things like the pistons to the back window and things like that so you literally won't sweat the small stuff. The sick bumper was custom-fabricated by my friend who owns a metal shop down in Virginia. The wooden platform is not permanent, it isn't bolted/screwed in so it can be removed if you don't want it but it is big enough for 2 people to sleep there (I am 6' tall and my girlfriend is 5'9") but one person can sleep very comfortably on it. The back seats have no problem going up or down. There is storage under the platform and I simply used two bins that easily slide in and out as well as fit perfectly when the back seats are up with the platform modified for when you need more seats. I lived out of the vehicle for 10 days road tripping New England scuba diving and mountaineering in August as well as numerous other coastal road trips. The Thule can be negotiated for. If you are looking for something affordable but reliable and will most certainly get all sorts of comments then look no further.
