1997 VW Eurovan Camper Van for sale

Clearly not a Passat but this site does not offer the right drop down model and can't seem to proceed without picking something.

It will be super hard to part ways with our 1997 Eurovan camper named Merlin - handsome in gray and full of magic. I’ve kept him pristine and he’s delivered some wonderful trips. It has been a real joy to pop its top in some magical locations. However, as we try and establish a new family small business and with my teenager needing a daily driver, the dream of once again owning a VW camper needs to be put on hold. First it was our family ’69 VW camper my parents purchased directly from the factory and shipped back home after driving it all over Europe. Now, though we’ve only owned Merlin three years, I know he has a lot of magic to give.

We are asking $37,000 and the current mileage is 139,215 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Everything works great with only issue being the key fob only unlocks half of the doors, so I have to manually use the key to lock the other half. Just like old times. I haven’t investigated this further just yet. No other problems to report.

All service has been done through Utah Imports here locally who specialize in Eurovans and Westy’s. Merlin gets an oil change every year and both batteries have been replaced. The gray color is paint with rhino guard on the lower end. Both front upper ball joints replaced. Both tie rod assemblies and steering rack boots replaced.

The photos do most of the talking as to its condition and how meticulously I’ve kept it. A type A personality will do that to you.

V6 OHC 12V engine, Fits four, 2 burner propane stove, electric truck fridge, propane furnace cranks and warms the space quickly, 2 swiveling captain chairs, rear shower is great for bathing outdoors, upgraded aluminum cold fresh water tank and another tank for gray water, hanging closet and lots of storage options.

All service records since I’ve owned it are available along with the original owner’s manuals.

Some things done before I owned it:
Lift kit installed
Transmission rebuilt
Respray to gray
Aluminum drinking water tank
Some pinch welds on the underside have been crushed due to improper lifting.
Interior upholstery, flooring and cabinetry redone
New blue tent installed
Tinted windows
Michelin Defender tires are quiet and smooth.

Both kitchen tables are available but I repurposed the hardware from one to make a table that is way cooler in my opinion. Can always revert to the original though.

I also made an extension to the topside bed that can be dropped into place or flipped over to extend shelf space when running the kitchen. I also have a cut wood piece that fills the entire hole beyond the upper bed but have not covered with fabric or padded material. Was thinking you could access a full length bed from outside with the ladder if desired or plop into place once you are up there.
