You can program the channels and listen to other frequencies. I have the FRS and GMRS frequencies (Walmart and other walkies) programed. When you press and hold the star * key it will scan and if there is traffic it will catch it. Also in the Commercial broadcast FM you can scan the stations like you would in a car.  These units are tested and ready to be put in service. Batteries have been cycled three times and AGAIN FRS and GMRS freqs programed in. (My time is money)

They have a metal internal frame vs all plastic like the other radios in stores.

Our Emergency Preparedness group has over 30 of these and have not had any problems in four years. These are NEW units. Multiple units to sell.

What YOU need to know! FRS 2-way radios are based on 1-22 channel numbering — and the power such radios provide is so low it’s immaterial. The Midland GXT1000 has a high power of about 3 watts, low just under 1/2 watt and at mid power (per Midland), 2 watts.. Why does this matter? These have much better power; you won’t see that in the inexpensive blister pack type radios. With a Nagoya NA-771 antenna (not included) on 5 watts they had almost 6 miles range. From CR14 and arsenic flats to fair grounds was range on hi and optional antenna.

Only 2 radios left.
